This role is your opportunity to lead change and improvement on the national stage – transforming lives across the country as one of England’s most influential voices in children’s social care.
Lead Improvement
You could influence the way government relates to social care. You could have a very positive impact on how well social workers do their job and therefore on the lives of individual children. Nationally, children’s social care will always face significant challenges and at Ofsted we believe inspection can help to make sure children are well supported and helped when they need to be.
You could achieve this by leading a way of inspecting that encourages improvement through intelligent, focused and responsible inspection. We have radically changed the way we work in inspecting social care, with a new system of local authority inspection, and a focus on what makes the most difference to children’s lives.
Influence the work of Ofsted
As part of the senior team alongside Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector (HMCI), you will be able to contribute to our strategy and implementation. There is a huge potential for you to help shape the future of inspection overall, and to work closely with HMCI.
We would like you to share your passion for getting it right for children, keeping them at the centre of policy at all times. You will need to be an authoritative voice, and a highly visible presence within Ofsted and the wider sector.
Make your experience count for more
Your ability to see the big picture, yet deliver on detail, will prove crucial to achieving improvement. Your track record and stature will give you the experience and credibility to make change a reality. You will be confident in achieving more though influencing and listening, while retaining your core deep knowledge of children’s social care and using that widely.
