Graduate Learning Mentor – Person Specification:
To be successful in this graduate learning mentor role you must be a confident communicator who can engage with youngsters of all abilities and backgrounds. You must be an emphatic person who can offer appropriate support to students who may have special educational needs. Ideally you have a core subject degree in English, Maths, Science or Humanities (Geography/History). You must be available to start in September.
Graduate Learning Mentor – About the role:
In this exciting Graduate Learning Mentor role you will be working closely with the class teachers. You will work with targeted students who need that extra push to achieve their full potential. You will also work closely with year 11’s on the run up to their GCSE’s.
You will be required to deliver booster sessions 1:1 or to small groups of students in order to give them that extra push outside of the classroom. The teacher and Senior Leadership team will assist you along the way and you will liaise with them to ensure progress is being made.
Please note you do not need to have prior experience of delivering intervention sessions similar to this, however if you do have experience in tutoring this would be advantageous.
Graduate Learning Mentor – The School:
The Graduate Learning Mentor role is based in an 11-16 Secondary School located in Manchester. There is on-site car parking for those who drive and direct bus/tram routes from the city centre. Recently the school has received a ‘Good’ Ofsted grading with an ‘Outstanding’ leadership team. There will be a number of other graduate learning mentors who will be able to support you in your first few weeks of the role.
