We have a fantastic opportunity for a Community Relations Manager at our new state-of-the-art luxury retirement village in Aston on Trent, near Derby. This is a great opportunity for a talented networker to raise the profile of the village in the community, increasing awareness of our facilities and services. The Community Relations Manager will also assist new residents in organising their move to the village, and help to support them through the process of settling in.

This role is offered initially on a part-time basis to job share with another staff member over 3 days per week, with the possibility of becoming full-time later in the year, and flexibility is required around weekend and evening hours according to requirements.

Opening in autumn 2017, this state-of-the-art retirement village set in beautifully landscaped grounds provides all the benefits of a socially vibrant community, including: a wellness spa with pool, beauty salon, terrace cafe, pristine croquet lawn and elegant restaurant and bar. Our accommodation ranges from luxury independent apartments to an on-site nursing care home providing exceptional 24-hour care in 60 deluxe en-suite bedrooms.

About the role

* To develop a strong network of effective relationships with local groups such as charities, voluntary and community organisations, as well as developing good working relationships and awareness with local professionals such as GP's, district nurses and local hospitals. To support the Village Manager in raising the profile of the village and integrating it into the local community

* To work with new residents and their families to manage the relocation and moving in process, and support them in settling in to village life

* To support the sales and marketing function by conducting show rounds, and attending open days and other marketing events

* To promote the village via social media and regularly updating the village website

Who we're looking for:

* Excellent written and face to face communication skills, able to interact in a friendly and professional manner with residents, families and local organizations, and a professional, presentable appearance

* Excellent organisational skills, able to manage your own time and with a high level of attention to detail

* A confident, determined personality and strong listening skills with the ability to build rapport and effective relationships

* IT literate, with experience of using social media to effectively promote an organisation

* Experience of the elderly care sector would be an advantage
