About this Role:

Experienced Senior or ambitious Site Manager looking to step up and take a larger role, required to work with this busy regional main contractor, either as No2 to the Project Manager on a £20m new build retirement home project on the outskirts of Southampton, or in a similar role within the site team for a large new build student accommodation scheme in Southampton City Centre.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities, including mid and short-term programming of works, input to design development, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, etc, snagging and handover.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The contractor is the busy regional office of a larger main contractor group with £75m annual turnover, and a proven track record in the delivery of medium sized new build and refurbishment schemes from £5m to £30m in the education, commercial, retirement home, industrial, student accommodation and retail sectors.

The patch focus includes Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex and occasionally Berkshire, secured through a mixture of negotiated schemes, frameworks and competitive tenders.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, communication and communication skills.

Proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor advantageous.

Ideally from a construction management or engineering background with a sharp eye for detail, you will possess strong planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, get it right first time` approach.

This role would suit an experience SSM, or ambitious SM with previous experience on a larger project.

You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
