We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Site Supervisor (Civils, Water industry) to join a major utilities company, working out of South Wales.
You will provide strategic and operational expertise in all areas of contract responsibility with regard to the installation of new mains and apparatus.
Role Objective:
You will look after the health, safety and wellbeing of all members of workforce under supervision, ensuring the quality of work complies within the contract specifications and environmental legislation. In addition, the role focuses on cost control, profitability, mitigation of regulatory and client liabilities.
Contract efficiencies must be maximised by delivering an excellent customer service, optimising productivity on site and contributing to the business / contract targets and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain and encourage a positive health and safety culture.
* Ensure all areas of operational delivery meet company, client and customer requirements and all works are delivered within relevant regulatory and client asset standards.
* Deliver financial, productivity and performance standards.
* Ensure all allocated work is effectively programmed and managed so that delivery meets the client requirements and that standards of service are met and maintained.
* Input into the planning and scheduling of works using technical knowledge to help prevent abortive works.
* Make sure the site teams have all the relevant information, job details, plant, equipment and materials to complete the job.
* Carry out on site audits and onsite supervision.
* Ensure all plant is hired in and off hired in a timely manner.
* Maintain effective and efficient contact with planning team so workload is completed on a daily basis, ensuring teams are cost effective and site information is then fed back to our design / commercial team.
* Mitigate risks to health and safety, customer experience and commercial aspects of the job.
* Complete timesheets correctly.
* Undertake regular toolbox talks, site inspections /audits, training and safety briefings.
* Investigate accidents / incidents and near miss reporting.
Experience:
* Previous experience of operating and delivery within the Utilities Sector.
* Knowledge of work activities undertaken (Administration, H&S requirements, water mains installations).
* An understanding of all relevant statutory, regulatory and company policies and guidelines.
* The ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
* The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement within the Water Service Agreement.
Qualifications:
Essential;
* NRSWA (Supervisor Level, Units 1 - 6)
* Full UK driving license.
* CSCS Card
Preferred;
* Recognised Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely, NVQ 3 or above, SMSTS)
* Water Hygiene Card (EUSR)
