Our client is offering an exciting opportunity to join their business as a Web Application Developer in what will be a diverse and fast paced position.

Maintaining and enhancing an already existing web application, the candidate will develop a new application for the commercial client side of the business whilst working on other projects.

Working for a SME, the client requires a candidate with previous SME experience and someone with a hands-on approach. Seeking an experienced and confident Web Developer who is comfortable to work alone and equally within a small team. Experience building for or migrating to cloud environments would be advantageous.

A candidate with a genuine interest in technology, enthusiastic about learning new technologies and with a willingness to take full ownership of systems and projects is essential.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* PHP (preferably with Code Igniter framework)
* Object orientated design and development
* OO Javascript (jquery or similar framework experience)
* AJAX
* Mysql database
* Linux (preferably Ubuntu)
* Building highly available and scalable applications / environments

DESIRABLE SKILLS

* Using JS for realtime asynch two way comms (websockets)
* HTML / CSS skills
* Apache / Nginx

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pm.

Private healthcare, pension and car parking is available and the company are a short walk from Gants Hill Station and are easy to reach via public transport from Ilford.

Salary is £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
