Recruiting on behalf for a profesional organisation based in Birmingham covering a 9 month maternity contract.

To research, write and edit bulletin to a high standard of factual and written accuracy, readability and relevance, to deadline and within budget as determined by the Managing Editor. To assist with other departmental activities as/when necessary.

Advertising personnel

1. To research, select and write content for each issue of Bulletin in line with the occupational journals policy.
2. To edit Bulletin to a high standard of accuracy and literacy.
3. To liaise with design staff to ensure acceptable standard of page layout etc.
4. To ensure production of Bulletin on time and to budget.
5. To select and write content for monthly e-bulletins.
6. To research/ write/ edit content for The Journal as agreed with the Managing Editor.
7. To take a responsible approach to health and safety and environmental risks in relation to your own job role and to control the risks or report them to management as appropriate.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: (specify as necessary whether essential or preferred)
Education: Degree level (preferred)
A level English (preferred)
Qualifications: NCTJ trained (preferred)
Skills and Previous Experience: (required to perform duties satisfactorily)
Prior news writing experience (essential)
Prior experience of publishing/print production (preferred)
IT skills (essential)
General knowledge of media law
Some knowledge of work-related health and safety issues (preferred)
