To take responsibility for engaging with families when they have lost a family member. As the Primary contact point you will ensure the appropriate time is made available to meet with the applicant & family members, to provide support & guidance in planning all Funeral arrangements and associated costs.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting Family members to discuss and plan Funeral arrangements.
Complete all appropriate paperwork for funerals & submit/request communications as required both internally/externally.
Liaise with all third parties to ensure completion and submission of paperwork & bookings are accurate & timely.
Logging & progressing all enquiries through pro-active management by ensuring that all follow up contacts are made within the appropriate time frame.
Accurately key all appropriate data within the Burial Register/Funeral Planner/Current diary in a timely fashion.
Maintain pro-active communication with all necessary parties throughout the funeral process to ensure we progress in line with the funeral deadlines set by the specific Funeral.
Ensure that formal liaison takes place with designated FDS/Conductor on funerals you have arranged. Day instructions should be clear and concise and communicated in a timely fashion prior to the funeral.
Assisting visiting Family members when viewing a relative within the Chapel of Rest
Ensure continuous up to knowledge of all internal processes and procedures by reference to the processing/best practice Guide.
Assist colleagues at other branches if the need should arise.
Provide assistance to callers (all modes) existing and new, in answering and dealing with general queries in relation to plots, funeral plans, memorials, etc.,
Assist with any training requirements that may be required for new employees to the business.
To positively promote the company in a professional manner when in attendance at external events, venues, etc.
Assistance in the mortuary if required.

Knowledge/Experience
Educated to GCSE standard (minimum of four at Grade C and above) including English and Maths - preferred.
Previous Office & administrative experience.
Previous experience within a customer facing environment is desirable.
