Fabrication Production Planner
An interesting role for a Fabrication Production Planner has become available working with an important manufacturing client based in Redditch who are globally renowned at being at the forefront of their field.
Reporting to the Operations Manager the role of Fabrication Production Planner will include the following:
Role overview:
As Fabrication Production Planner you will effectively formulate a factory plan to satisfy production of sales orders and delivery to customer on time and in full, in the most efficient manner.
You will also be responsible for providing an overview of medium to long-term requirements for plant capacity changes, to meet future customer demand including manpower requirements to meet the needs of the business:
Role Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for own and others' health and safety ensuring all standards and procedures are being carried out
*Responsible for pro-actively interpreting orders into factory plan
*To ensure machines and processes are planned to optimum efficiency, issuing plan and production orders
*To ensure that materials are ordered to satisfy the factory plan
*To liaise with despatch and stock controllers to replenish stock and fulfil orders
*To ensure that all paperwork is up to date
*Liaise with sales and despatch for prioritising orders
*Liaise with factory supervisor on status of plans through production sheets
*Report daily to the Operations Manager on the status of the plan
*Attend daily production meetings and chair in the absence of Operations Manager
*Provide an 'available capacity plan' for potential future sales
*Promote team working within the company
*To initiate and implement new working practices adopting a continuous improvement approach in consultation with the Operations Manager
*Provide support to Engineering Projects with lead times and capacity requirements to fulfil overall project objectives
*Plan the requirement head count required to operate production efficient
*Comply with all company policies and procedures including personnel, Health and Safety and Quality
Job Specific Skills:
To possess a sound knowledge of planning, production and a motivational attitude;
*To have the desire to learn and develop
*To motivate, develop and direct skills
*Leadership skills;
*To possess a sound knowledge on production scheduling, planning & execution;
*to possess excellent computer skills with the ability to create and manipulate data for further analyses
*SAP experience would be an advantage but training will be given to the successful applicant
*Degree level/diploma with experience in a manufacturing environment;
*A good level of production planning or related experience with continuous improvement experience preferred.
