My client are one of Londons leading main contractors in construction and development. They works across a number of disciplines including residential, commercial, schools and hospitals, but are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the commercial lead on a residential new build development in West London. The project still has 6 months remaining and they need a strong Quantity Surveyor at Project level to assist on package management. They will be handling between 6 and 8 packages. The position is a site based role in West/Central London and the project is valued at £20 million and consists of residential apartments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a tier 1 company with a reputation for excellent staff retention due to their diverse projects combined with their positive working environment and attitude to help employees with career training and progression wherever possible. They are initially looking to bring a candidate on in a contract capacity but there is scope to move across to other projects should the opportunity arise.

You will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager on site and your responsibilities will include;

·Undertake costanalysis, identifying any commercial risk
·Managing tender competition process
·Collate and analysis of tenders and award/allocate to sub-contractors
·Assess and reassess cost variations to contract and update appropriate accounts information
·Prepare project cash flow forecast
·Be strongly involved in package management on a daily basis
·Assist in submitting and agreeing final accounts
·Prepare monthly costing reports and cost forecasts
·Review and advise on contracts
·Value completed works
·Stay up to date on various contracts, legal contracts, building requirements and regulations and health and safety issues

The ideal candidatewill have:

·BSc in QuantitySurveying
·Minimum 6 years experience in residential new build
·Excellent communication skills
·Personable with extensive knowledge of residential or commercial projects
·High level o fprofessionalism and a strong character
·Be a strong negotiator
·An analytical problem solver

Price / Salary: £50000 - £60000/annum
