We are recruiting for a permanent SEN Learning Support Assistant to work on a full time basis within an independent specialist school. The school offers excellent facilities and provides a full and varied curriculum as well as a wide range of therapies.

The school are looking for an enthusiastic and an experienced individual who is able to contribute effectively in a calm and positive manner. The school caters for students between the ages of 6-19 years of age with a variety of special educational needs. Under the guidance of the class teacher you will be required to provide consistent and reliable support to small groups of students, or to specific students on a one to one basis.

We are looking for candidates with:

* Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject and/or education
* Experience within a special SEN school/unit experience for a minimum of 1 year
* Experience of working with SEN pupils and pupils with challenging behaviour essential
* A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
* Experience in dealing effectively with challenging behaviour
