Estimator Worcestershire based contractor

My client is an award-winning contractor with established regional offices covering the South West and Midlands. They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join their growing house building Division based out of their offices in Worcestershire.

Typical projects encompass new build apartments and housing developments for Local Authorities and Housing Associations ranging from 10 50 units in scale in locations such as the West Midlands, Bristol and the M5 corridor.

The house building division is undergoing a period of sustained growth and expansion, tendering within new geographies as well as looking at their own land opportunities to move into the open market sector, resulting in an exciting opportunity within their preconstruction team.

The role of Estimator is a front-end function and performs a key role when building competitive tenders for future work. As such this opportunity would be suitable for Estimators or Quantity Surveyors from a house building or contracting background who have a proven track record winning work for social housing providers.

To be suitable for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate the following:

Analysis of tender documentation, to include drawings and technical documents to prepare estimates.
Preparation of subcontract & suppliers' packages including take offs.
Consulting with subcontractors and suppliers to discuss estimates and resolve issues and enquiries.
Communicating with potential customers, colleagues and suppliers to arrange site visits.
Team player capable of a flexible approach
Energetic & self-motivated
Strong IT capabilities including Microsoft Office
Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labour expenses.
Working closely with Technical and Operational teams constructing tender packages.
Commutable to Malvern.

£50,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
