As a result of growth a large plastics manufacturing company are looking for a Operations Team Leader for a busy manufacturing site, working on a 4 on 4 off days and nights rotating shift pattern. You'll be experienced with managing and leading a team with a background working within FMCG manufacturing environment with knowledge of six sigma principles.

The Role

Reporting into Operations Managers, you'll be responsible for one of eight shift area teams. You'll be accountability for five key areas for the shift, environmental health & safety, quality, service, finance and labour costs. The main objective is to proactively deliver short time frame objectives against each metric.
Maintaining regular communication with Operations Manager, Engineering and fellow Operations Team Leaders, driving and promoting environmental health & safety, department audits, general manufacturing practices and lean manufacturing principles.
Focusing and driving continuous improvement and identifying areas which require attention.
Maintaining all health & safety procedures are implemented within the department and reporting all health & safety issues.
Working closely with the Operations Manager and Operations excellence team to optimise the plant performance.

The Person

Experience of managing and leading a team within a FMCG manufacturing environment. Effective managing and driving change, with experience and knowledge of developing teams.
Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma practices and principles.
Strong health & safety knowledge, qualified within NEBOSH or ISOH.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with a knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP systems.
