Part Time Finance Assistant

Job Description:
Match purchase invoices to purchase orders
Obtain approval of all purchase invoices from the responsible member of staff
Enter coded overheads invoices into the accounting system
Create upload file of direct cost invoices from in-house production system and check to paper documents
Raise purchase remittances using the accounting system
Raise manual cheques for non BACS payments
Send out remittance advices to suppliers by email or post
Reconcile accounting system purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements received and investigate discrepancies
Deal with supplier queries
Post sales invoices to the accounting system
Cash Book and reconciliations
Assist with entry of cash book transactions onto the accounting system
Assist with reconciliation of all bank accounts using the accounting system
Matching of bank transactions to in-house production system transactions for collections accounts, advances accounts, protective advances accounts and origination costs accounts reconciliation spreadsheets
Update all origination payments and receipts to individual new customer reconciliation spreadsheets

Person Specification:
Basic understanding and interest of accounting disciplines is desired
Gaining work experience or through study for an accountancy or bookkeeping qualification
Study towards a recognised accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) is encouraged
Previous office work experience preferred
Working knowledge of Sage 200, or similar accounting systems, desirable but not essential
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required

Additional Information:
Based in Leatherhead
£20,000 - £25,000 pro rata
Flexible Hours 25 Hours per week
Temp to perm position, starting ASAP
