Blu Coal are urgently seeking a Senior Design Engineer for the Midlands to look after the SSE area & also WPD South. The Senior Design Engineer will lead a team of Design Engineers and Assistants.

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

* Be creative in finding solutions to resource/schedule problems to maintain project delivery programme
* Leadership of a design team to deliver high quality tenders and design approved engineering solutions to the business - Including performance management
* Ensuring the design work is in accordance with Customer and Business requirements
* Ensure effective management of internal asset value documentation
* Authority to approve estimates
* Leads and supports on DNO/IDNO and key Customer Interfaces
* Ensure Safety by Design through a Design Risk Assessment Process
* Lead the design and tender team by displaying clear thinking and identification with customer objectives
* Work closely with Construction teams to keep them continually and fully appraised of design status

As a Senior Design Engineer, we are looking for the following:

* Previous experience as a Design Engineer
* Must have knowledge and experience of electrical distribution and have an engineering background
* Technically competent in all aspects of tendering and design up to 20KV
* Some commercial experience
* Authority to design approve or currently peer checking
* Desire to extend technical specialism to aid the Business
* Proficient with AutoCAD
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification, lesser qualification with experience
* Prince 2 Project Management or similar (advantage)

Price / Salary: £35000 - £44000/annum
