Based in Newcastle this nationally recognised business is looking for an Internal Sales Representative to join their team.

The Internal Sales Executive acts as the first point of contact with the customer, portraying a professionalism and confidence that delivers the ultimate in customer service; to build and maintain an active customer base to support the commercial team and develop new sales to support the office.

You will also being dealing with the marketing aspects of the business promoting the business through use of digital marketing and social media.

You will capitalise on commercial opportunities through negotiation of prices in order to achieve the sales targets set by the Management Team.

Key Duties

* Support the commercial team and develop new sales within a specified geographic area to support the business unit / depot.
* Once familiar with the product begin to be proactive on sales by implementing an agreed sales strategy with the Commercial Team.
* Apply various sales skills to capitalize on commercial opportunities through negotiation of prices.
* Maintain an agreed level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and prospective customers, buyers and key personnel within the allocated key accounts.
* Pro-actively seek new business by targeting a combination of the existing customer base and prospective customers.
* Effectively deal with telephone enquiries requesting quotations for products; compiling information on the desired products including prices from external suppliers.
* Create quotations from tenders received, which can include a variety of products.
* Proactively chase tenders using a variety of means including builder conference.
* Ensure all quotations are followed up when necessary.
* Liaise between Production and customers to efficiently answer general enquiries concerning deliveries and production.
* Meet and exceed the agreed specific performance objectives.
* Achieve team and individual sales targets as set by the Management Team within the agreed time scale.
* Maximise sales by continually expanding orders and up selling on all incoming and outgoing calls.
* Ensure all orders received are accurately entered into the computerized system.
* Liaise on a daily basis with your colleagues and update them on any developments in your work, ensuring a high level of team relationships exist.
* Ensure that the external sales teams are kept informed of any developments relevant to their accounts.
* Provide the Management with sales reports on a weekly/monthly basis
* Ensure that all customer complaints, issues and queries reach a successful and appropriate conclusion. Where relevant, escalate matters to the Depot Manager and log them under the TQM procedure.
* Identify prospective Technical Product enquiries and pass to the Technical Sales Department.

The person:

The position will appeal to candidates with the ability to quickly connect with other people, to meet new and different people on a daily basis, quickly form relationships and to use those relationships to get work done. The person should be able to demonstrate assertiveness, the ability to read other people, to listen to them and to empathise with them. An enthusiastic, upbeat and friendly approach is essential.
