Due to continued growth, my client, a leading manufacturing and supply company in engineering solutions of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) mouldings have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner
The successful applicant will provide support to the Site Manager in assisting with the day to day running of the production teams, deputising as required.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Liaising with clients to develop solutions that integrate the product into small and large infrastructure projects across the UK, Europe & worldwide.
Constructing Bills of Material, Process Routes and costing analysis for individual contracts and some ongoing regular production lines. Ensuring that requirements are met in terms of safety, quality, quantity, cost, and time whilst achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
Convey information to the teams and encourage two-way communication and feedback.
Progress chase and prioritise workloads and tasks to meet the Company's best interests
Reduce waste to a minimum.
To work as part of a cross functional team to introduce new products/projects and systems and implement continuous improvement
Identify in-house training needs and potential skills shortages, and take appropriate action.
Perform any reasonable tasks as instructed by Management
Essential skills and experience required
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, accountability and flexibility.
Ability to work as part of a team with proven leadership and communication skills
Highly motivated, with a positive can do attitude to all aspects of the role
Proactive approach to housekeeping and waste minimisation
Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
Must have a high level of computer skills particularly MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Desirable skills and experience
Previous experience of leading a team of people
Knowledge or experience of manufacturing IT systems, Boms/Routes and product costing
Certificate of basic management/team leader training
ONC/HNC standard in mechanical or electrical engineering
Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of moulding production processes
Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques (e.g. lean manufacturing).
