Packaging Technologist - FMCG

Location: London
Salary: £35K - £45K depending on experience

OVERVIEW: Exciting position to work with a leading retail account to deliver high quality own brand packaging developments.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work alongside Product Technologists, Designers Buyers and Packaging team to ensure structural design integrity, develop creative concepts, mock ups, cutters and samples.
* Plan new product development to agreed critical path.
* Identify cost saving opportunities for the business.
* Facilitate the delivery of fit for purpose packaging across a range of categories.
* Conduct regular range and consistency reviews suggesting improvements wherever possible.
* Review production standards with suppliers.
* Maintain a full understanding of the marketplace and competition through research, store auditing and any other means necessary.
* Ensure all components are risk assessed and comply with regulatory and consumer requirements.
* Provide guidance, advice and support to the relevant teams on packaging structures, materials, print and specification throughout the design process.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

* Project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Previous work experience in packaging technology & packaging design.
* Knowledge of printing processes and pre-press.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Problem solving skills.

Price / Salary: £35000 - £45000/annum
