This position offers the opportunity for a French / English bilingual candidate to join a well-known and respected group within the food manufacturing industry, and to utilise both their language and quality assurance skills. The position is cover for maternity and is anticipated to last for around a year.
Job Purpose:
To implement the delivery of Group Quality Policy and objectives.
To Understand and meet the requirements and concerns of customers, and deliver a service to meet those needs, so to ensure the company retains and increases its reputation as a first class food producer/supplier.
Role responsibilities:
To contribute to the delivery of the company vision and business plan
To ensure the quality operating objectives and standards of performance are followed
To ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are complied with at all times.
To build key relationships with the UK manufacturing and packing sites & continental divisions & sites and to ensure that all UK customers requirements are fully understood by them, the divisions and other relevant colleagues
To work in partnership with own team and the other teams to ensure the overall delivery of Group Quality Policy and objectives and drive continuous improvements
To deliver against own part of department budget
To work in line with all relevant Group policies
To deputise for the other Customer Facing Quality Roles as and when requested
To deliver internal and external customer & consumer service at a high level and develop strong internal and customer relationships
Responsible for ensuring delivery of customer audit plans; right first time audits, and adequate response to corrective actions within the required timescale.
To accompany customers on site audits providing translation and managing relationships between customer and group representatives to ensure correct result
Responsible for ensuring on time delivery of customer specifications which are right the first time
Responsible for ensuring on time delivery of customer KPI reports; right first time
To ensure the aligned management of internal and external alerts affecting UKs customers to minimise risk and exposure for the Company and its customers
To raise awareness of issues related to food safety, legal and quality risks on products to senior management team within delays commensurate with the risks.
To proactively identify defective or unacceptable products and ensure these are discussed with suppliers to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventive action
To ensure the Quality Assistant supplies sufficiently detailed response to customer non-conformances to allow satisfactory response to customers first time
To assist in carrying out packaging checks as and when required and to seek final approval for printing from SQM or QD
To ensure the correct filing of all information received from and sent to LML customers
To work in partnership with the other teams to ensure the overall delivery of quality objectives, particularly proactive involvement/participation in customer related projects
Responsible for effective and efficient operational performance of area of responsibilitys activities
Experience / Knowledge and skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Food Safety (HACCP) and Quality Management Systems and BRC Food Standard
Technical experience working with UK major retailers
Experience in sensory analysis and profiling
Commercial, with evidence of the ability to deliver proactive and reactive support
Ability to analyse and evaluate data against key indicators, to monitor programmes, projects and plans to set targets
Food science degree or equivalent
Proficiency using key software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet financial targets
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at different levels
Understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities and managing diversity
Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and relevant trading legislation
French and English bilingual (essential), Italian a bonus
Clean driving license (1 year +)
