MPI have a requirement for a Project Manager to work in Donnington, Telford.
This is contract for approx 6 months (subject to change)
Up to £400.00 per day Ltd. / £308.80 PAYE to be paid to the right candidate (8 hour working day)
Security Clearance is required prior to starting.
Our Client needs people who understand MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) preferably in a Heavy Vehicle environment but aviation would also be considered.
General Description of the Role:-
The purpose of this role is to project manage operational delivery outputs. Projects can include elements within MRO-4, Contract Change Notices (CCNs), complex land tasks or change initiatives. The role supports the business by providing ownership on a known delivery output and co-ordinates and manages the inputs and stakeholders in order for the business to deliver the output
Main Tasks:-
What the post holder has Responsibility for;
People
Delivering Company communications
Stakeholder management with Programme Managers, Site Managers and Workshop Managers and support departments (I&RM, IT etc.)
Stakeholder management of customer contacts
Tools
Production of and owner of project plans tracking project
Production of plans through Planning function that are distributed to Operations (the plan' for the Workshops staff to follow)
Extraction of system reports to continually monitor production statuses
Extraction of system reports to continually monitor material statuses
Ensuring safety standards and PPE requirements are being followed
Knowledge of how to use IT systems e.g. ERP system
Process
Monitoring production output against plan(s) using project management processes
Working with Workshops Managers to confirm project status and react to signs of delay / slippage
Working with internal stakeholders to jointly achieve the project output (e.g. Planning, I&RM, Facilities, HR)
Producing and managing a concerns and counter measures process to highlight and resolve issues
Reporting on project status to internal stakeholders as required
Managing stakeholders within Operations and I&RM to ensure project has sufficient resource and material
Attending customer meetings
Travelling to multiple sites as required
Hosting stakeholder visits to sites
Managing project budget Material and labour spend within project area
Monitoring re-work statistics and raising concerns with Workshops Managers
Monitoring material statistics from I&RM Non-conformances, supplier performance, material delays
Visiting production areas to meet with operational staff, understand challenges/constraints/opportunities
To understand end-to-end production processes across project
To lead by example in adhering to company processes supporting on-going ISO 9001 (2015) certification
The post holder has Accountability for;
Accountable for the delivery output of assigned Project
Ensuring project statuses are up to date and communicated internally/externally as required
Scenario planning the knock-on effect(s) to project based on outcomes/decisions (e.g. delays in material supply, lack of decision/information from Customer)
Ensuring Site Managers/Workshops Managers have all the required information they need to able to plan resourcing accordingly
Taking customer requirement(s) and owning the delivery (e.g. land tasks, MRO4, CCN)
Attending customer meeting when/where required on project matters
Ensuring project risks are recorded, tracked and mitigated where possible
Managing and monitoring project spend
Ensuring H&S standards are followed including use of PPE, safe working areas, near miss reporting and accident reporting
Ensuring management chain is notified of risks of meeting output plan
Ensuring company processes are adhered to
The post holder has delegated Authority for;
Authority to authorise travel and subsistence claims for team in accordance with delegated authority levels
Ability to approve IT requests for (or on behalf of) team
Authority to raise FM requests
Authority to submit Ovation Nominations
Authority to stop work/production where activity is deemed unsafe
The post holder will be measured by indictors including;
Production of weekly/monthly project status report (internal reporting)
Production of weekly/monthly project updates to Customer stakeholders
Providing monthly project updates for Operations and Board level meeting when required
Daily production calls with Workshops managers on production
Weekly calls with Head of Programmes and Projects on project status
Tracking of project spend - Labour and material
To closely work with Operational Support team (planning, demand management etc.)
Technical Qualifications and Experience:-
Educated to Level 5 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (foundation degree, Level 5 NVQ, high national diploma (HND)) or equivalent workplace experience - Essential
Completed (or working towards) project management methodology (e.g. APM, PRINCE2) - Essential
