Head of Business Services

Wolverhampton

£40,000 - £48,000 per annum

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of members and the engagement of non-member businesses from across the Black Country. You will have a demonstrable aptitude for commercial activity and you will lead a team of customer facing staff tasked with providing best in class business support and business services to both members and non-members across the Black Country. You will develop these key frontline services with partners based across the Black Country and wider regions, always with a focus on local business growth and a strong commercial model. Working at pace, your key objectives will cover:

* Extend the range and reach of the company business service offer for maximum commercial return
* Work with the Senior Management Team to increase membership retention and membership numbers
* Create a culture and way of working focused on outstanding customer advice and support
* Actively seek and secure external funding opportunities
* Sustain credible and robust relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers to ensure the success of the service

Key Responsibilities:

* Be the responsible officer for all business support activity, ensuring all targets, KPIs and activity is delivered on-time, within budget and to a high standard of quality
* Develop a business support strategy, supporting growth and networking opportunities and increase company revenue
* Speak and attend events for a wide range of partners, to raise the profile and to influence and contribute to key issues of local businesses in the Black Country.
* Ensure a 'customer first' approach to businesses
* Ensure timely delivery of key business support projects and ensure the required targets and outcomes are achieved
* Prepare and present reports on progress against Business Plan and new initiatives to the Board and Consultative Forum
* Set SMART goals and KPIs for performance for all team members
* Maintain excellent relationships with a wide range of partners and shareholders and is the prominent business support agency in the local area
