Plant Maintenance Fitter

Job type: Permanent
Location: Carlisle
Hourly rate: From £12.00+ Experience dependent
Hours: Full time Must be flexible and able to work shift patterns

This is a permanent position with an award-winning employer, based in Carlisle. Candidates must be time served and have an understanding of the following:

Plant Machinery Loading Shovels, Forklifts, Excavators and Telehandlers
Site Machinery Generators and Conveyor Belts

Duties will include but are not limited to:

To inspect, service and repair machinery to the highest standard and within allocated time frames
Liaising with other departments and reporting directly to the management teams
Maintaining H&S compliance at all times, reporting risks immediately and ensuring correct procedures and PPE are adhered to

Skills and Experience

Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent and hands on experience
Own transport due to rural location
Knowledge of Plant Equipment i.e. Hydraulics and Electrical Systems, Shovels, Forklifts, Telehandlers
Able to work unsupervised and manage own workload
Welding and Fabrication skills
A flexible approach to working patterns and committed to going the extra mile!
