My client is looking for a Building Control Director to join their large multi-disciplinary consultancy. They work with clients across a range of sectors, including local government, central government, education, transport, health, insurance, and many other private sector organisations. In addition, they support them with expertise from across their business; in customer and property management, software and hardware, back and front office operations, recruitment and training. Working together to provide a seamless, multidisciplinary solution.

Location

This role is based in the Barnet office, however other southern based locations may be considered. The role will also include significant travel with some overnight stays.

Role and responsibilities

* Undertake a National Technical role in the operations of the companies building standards
* To lead on solution development and writing of bid proposals to support strategic business development and growth agenda - with main focus on the Southern Market but also supporting other National opportunities if required.
* To support technical and sales leads in the Regional Partnerships and identifying and winning work through innovative and proactive marketing and business development activity.
* To coordinate the Approved Inspector (AI) Service including

1 Identifying sales opportunities (and conversation to sales wins)
2 Supporting operational delivery of the AI service
3 Client management
4 Technical guidance

* To develop and maintain an excellent understanding of business capabilities, key personnel and business development activity; becoming a key source of information and support for innovation and compliance
* Provide on-site interim support for day to day operations on new commissions until internal resource plans realised.
* To support the National Building Control Lead to:

1 Significantly grow the income of the companies Building Control team.
2 Develop systems and procedure across the building control business to ensure effectiveness and consistency of approach.

Ideally you will have/be:

* Relevant Building Control qualification
* Membership of a Building Control professional body (RICS,COIB, CABE)
* Relevant experience of managing and delivering building control services ideally within a private sector (Approved Inspector) environment
* Sound commercial and contract management experience
* The ability to develop excellent working relationships with partners, clients and colleagues
* Sourcing of quality marketing materials to support strategic business development activity
* Trade event coordination / attendance
* Coordinate, attend and contribute to business development meetings
* Support and promote best practice and knowledge sharing through national and regional relationships
* A full UK driving licence
