A fantastic opportunity for you to join the UK's leading plant breeding company as Assistant Plant Breeder has just arisen. You will be based in North Lincolnshire but working for an international agricultural group across various markets both here in the UK and in Europe.

The main goal of your job as Assistant Plant Breeder is to manage the operational implementation of the barley breeding program for the UK and other markets across Europe.

You will be working on both winter and spring barley crops so you will be kept busy and occupied all year round on both the operational and strategic elements of the barley breeding program.

This job will suit candidates who have a PhD or MSc in plant science, agriculture or another relevant subject with a strong understanding of modern molecular techniques and genetics. Knowledge of breeding barley, cereals or another agricultural crop is a definite plus. Strong analytical, mathematical, data handling and communication skills are essential.

In return for your commitment, you will be fully supported and trained by the Senior Plant Breeder as you are developed into an experienced Plant Breeder who would then be able to take on more responsibility.

Salary will reflect your experience in plant breeding.
