The Role:
* Regulatory requirements and changing transportation business models create the opportunity to develop new tools & solutions that are integrated and optimized at a systems level. The increased product complexity, electrification requirements and shorten time to market requires significant improvements in the software tools in complex modelling environments.
* As a Technical Lead xEV Digital Engineer you will work in close partnership with a Programme manager to lead a team to deliver one or more collaborative R&D projects. The positions role is to improve hybrid and electric vehicle modelling and digital engineering toolchains. Initially, the position would be responsible for the technical leadership of a collaborative R&D project. The requirements are EV vehicle modelling, developing advanced battery modelling techniques and coordinating work from multiple external partners and customers.
* The Technical Lead xEV Digital Engineer will also support the ongoing development of a culture of successful and effective research and innovation including coaching, mentoring and skill development for project team members.
Qualifications/Experience: The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills and experience:
* Leading teams to successfully deliver research or development projects preferably in the automotive or transportation sector.
* Experience developing hybrid and electric driveline architectures, components and systems integration and experience of the attributes and trade-offs that must be considered when specifying and developing Hybrid powertrain systems.
* Have a good understanding of the operating principles of motors, inverters, power converters, battery chargers and battery systems and of high voltage (
