Our client, a leading Design and manufacturing organisation who operate within the aerospace and automotive sector are seeking a Production Engineer to join their team

As a Production Engineer you will be include monitoring progress of in house planned production in real-time, organising and updating parts lists, ensure that production plans are integrated, additionally you will have active involvement in, and improvement of, subcontract management processes.

Role Responsibilities
Participating in the development of project schedules during the bid phase of a project, including the identification of strategic sub-contracting requirements.

Responsible for developing pricing sheets in accordance with project requirements.

Co-ordinating and liaising with project Design Engineers regarding Design for Manufacture techniques.

Responsible for co-ordinating Design Engineers to achieve the timely production of pre-issue drawings to meet project schedules and the Integrated Schedule.

Monitoring and recording the progress of parts being manufactured in house and managing delivery of sub contracted parts

Contributing to Project meetings from launch to wash-up

What we need from you
HNC/D or degree in an Engineering discipline (ideally, Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering) or equivalent vocational experience.

Extensive experience of working as a shop floor manufacturing engineer with a strong bias to precision engineering of low and high volume parts.

Working understanding of CAD tools and experience of working with subcontractors.

Understanding and experience of developing continuous improvement techniques

Experience using project management methodologies & tools; 5S and lean manufacturing processes and working knowledge of MRP systems

Price / Salary: £30000 - £37000/annum
