Our client has a specialist day and residential school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger's Syndrome and associated difficulties.
The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger's Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society. Students have ambitions to live and work as self-reliant adults and they help them to reach their goals with continued support, structure and guidance. The school welcomes students on a day or weekly residential basis for 38 weeks per year.
They are looking for a practitioner with a passion and knowledge surrounding ASD and sensory processing disorders. The successful applicant will be HCPC registered and will hold BSc Occupational Therapy or profession specific equivalent qualification.
Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential. You will have an experience/awareness of Sensory Processing Disorders and the application of sensory integration theory in practice, assessment and clinical observations and you will be able to demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to delivering treatment approaches.
This role will have a strategic element, whereby you will assess, deliver and review therapeutic provision to our young people. it is also expected that you will provide training to the staff team to ensure a consistent and coherent approach is maintained.
You will benefit from a bespoke induction package, support & access to training and development (internal and external), regular supervision & appraisal and the support of a committed therapy team.
Price / Salary: £21000 - £25000/annum
