Our client has an opportunity to join their Bedford operation.

Schedule raw material requirements and purchases of Involvement in machinery purchasing
- Ensure all Quality and Health & Safety standards are maintained and correct procedures are operated within the department
- Contribute to Production Planning and hold daily Production Planning meetings
- Check purchase invoices for materials and couriers
- Ensure materials are utilised in the most efficient way
- Check time sheets and attendance records
- Manage Lean Manufacturing within the business
- Ensure security of building and answer call outs
- Ensure the Business Manager is kept informed of current affairs which relate to the department
_- Discuss performance standards with employees who do not meet the Company's requirements regarding attendance or behaviour / actions
- Discuss and progress any grievances from individuals
- Complete various administrative tasks accurately and within appropriate timescales, to ensure correct authorisation of pay, holiday pay, sickness pay etc
- Any other reasonable duty as requested by the Business Manager
- Help Costing Department with development / sampling new and existing products
- Carry out Health & Safety tasks from monitoring matrix and ensure machinery is maintained to required standards
- Help supervise routine maintenance using internal / external resources

About you:

- Good general education
- Extensive management experience
- Significant product knowledge would be advantageous
- Knowledge of production techniques and product design is preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment where Health and Safety hold equal importance to production.
- An understanding of Lean Manufacturing
- Communication skills
