Aerospace clients based in Bedfordshire looking for a Maintenance Electrician for an ongoing contract role. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role provides a pro-active and efficient Facilities service to the business both in an electrical and mechanical capacity with a strong focus on practical energy and cost reduction practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out adhoc facilities maintenance requests as required
Complete minor repairs and fault finding on mechanical / site equipment
Support and maintain site electrical infrastructure: Design and develop electrical systems
Complete electrical repairs and fault finding on a range of production and support equipment
Complete periodic testing of electrical circuits
Complete proactive and reactive electrical repairs
Responsible for electrical sub- contractors - ensuring all works are completed to latest electrical wiring regulations
Inspect electrical systems/components to identify hazards and defects, adjust and repair to current regulations
Responsibility for maintaining site electrical certification system
Identify and plan improvements to site electrical infrastructure
Complete Periodic inspection and testing in compliance with latest regulations
Deal with suppliers and negotiate cost reductions as required
Take on project related work from conception, design through to completion whilst ensuring regulatory compliance
Support continuous improvement activities throughout the site
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures when carrying out operational duties
Complies with Health & Safety safe working practices
Any other reasonable duties
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
City and Guilds: 17th edition IEE wiring regulation, 2382
Electrical installation, 2382
Testing and Initial Verification, 2392
5 GCSE's A to C including Maths & English or equivalent
Qualified to IPAF level (Mobile Vertical (3a),Mobile Boom (3b)
Proven experience with the field of Electrical Design, Installation, Certification and Maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to work with the minimum of supervision whilst working within a team.
Good written and communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office packages including MS Word and Excel.
Must have Customer focused approach to work
Must be flexible in terms of hours
Must be able to work weekends when required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Initial & Fundamental inspection and testing, 2394 and 2395
Understanding of HVAC systems
Possess a Fork Lift Truck Licence (or must willing to be trained)
