Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer Weybridge

£35,000 - £40,000 plus excellent benefits and working environment.

This a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a well-established company to oversee the development of suppliers to ensure contracts are supported through quality, and engineering and best practice activities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in a quality engineering discipline or relevant quality engineering experience.

Experience/Knowledge:

- To understand and read engineering drawings.
- Speaking direct to customers internal & external/suppliers.
- Proven track record of supplier development.
- Visual inspection of welded components. Coding.
- Knowledge of ISO and AQAP (NATO) procedures.
- Knowledge of welding procedures and processes

Duties:

- Support the Quality Manager in improving understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001 across the Business.
- Identify and understand Certification and welding coding from suppliers.
- To understand and comply with Company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, ISO9001 and ISO14001.
- Liaise with departments to understand the process of engineering.
- Support cost down activities through the supply chain.
- Monitor and improve the supply base to achieve a right first time policy.
- Maintain supplier SAP database with reports.
- Aid manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of suppliers on new product development.
- Support supplier performance improvement projects and drive Zero defect mentality in the supply chain.
- Audit and assessment of supply chain to ensure current & future business needs are met.
- Ensure product conformance and process controls within supply chain and the flow-down of business and customer quality requirements.
- Resolution of quality concerns using 8D / 5 Why methodologies.
- Record keeping of supplier approvals, audits and visits and monitoring of supplier performance against objectives.
