Electrical Design Manager
Salary: Up to £46k on experience

Our client is a leading manufacturing firm based in the Leeds area who due to their current level of business are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Manager to head up a team of designers in delivering product design solutions to a company working on a global scale. You will need to have substantial electrical design experience ideally having worked within the automation sector and must have experience managing a team. The role is working on first off design from scratch primarily and you will need to have excellent customer communication skills.

You will have outstanding AutoCAD skills and ideally will be highly knowledgeable with Eplan, you should educated to HNC/HND or degree level in a relevant engineering discipline. You will be responsible for providing a high level of electrical design output and innovating the companies electrical design services. You will play a pro-active role in the companies CI program and must be able to communicate project statuses throughout the company and with relevant external parties. Reporting to the Controls Manager you should be able to demonstrate a stable background of electrical design for manufacturing sector focusing very heavily on industrial automation.

The role is responsible for managing a team of 10 design engineers (6 software and 4 electrical) and needs someone who is able to lead from the front and demonstrate a high level of organisation.

Key requirements for the Electrical Design Manager role are:

* Qualified to HNC/HND or degree level in a relevant engineering discipline

* Managerial experience of a design team within a manufacturing environment
* Highly experienced in AutoCAD ideally with some knowledge of Eplan
* Ideally experienced with industrial automation design
* Strong communication skills internally and externally
* Must be able to deliver first off designs from scratch

This is a key role with a fantastic client who are a global leader within their market and have an excellent internal culture. They are keen on training and development and a large number of their current staff have been for there 20 years+. The role comes with a basic salary of up to £46k, with some potential flexibility on salary for candidates who tick all the boxes of the role.
