This role is perfect for an experienced Head of History or a History Teacher that is either looking to take a sideways step or to progress their career leading a thriving department.

The Position

The successful History Teacher will be joining this secondary school Immediately or in January on a full-time, permanent contract and you will be required to deliver the National Curriculum up to A-Level as well as lead the History department to outstanding results. You will have a clear vision on how you will be achieving outstanding results and what you expect from the staff within your department.

Your timetable will be solely History and you will have the opportunity to use your own fully resourced department to plan lessons and obtain the necessary materials that you feel will benefit your students. The school have a laid-back approach to how teachers wish to deliver their lessons and believe that their teachers should use the method they feel most effective and that they are most comfortable with.

The History Teacher

To be considered for the post of Head of the History Department, you must have a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status following the completion of your teacher training. You will have a strong subject knowledge and the ability to confidently teach Computer Science up to A-Level as well as lead the department to outstanding results.

The school are based in East London, within the borough of Waltham Forest and caters to coeducational cohort of 1003 students between the ages of 11-6. The schools were reported as "Good" in all areas in their most recent Ofsted inspection and is highly regarded by local parents' due to their consistently impressive GCSE results and involvement in the community.
