Subsidiary job objectives
* Maintenance on production machinery, (Assembly Department)
* Manage the compressor service to the whole factory
* Designing, installing and commissioning new production units, monitoring modifications, upgrades, and troubleshooting existing processes
Responsibilities
* Responsible to Engineering Coordinator
* Responsible for one Apprentice
* Responsible for the training and development of Production Technicians (Assembly)
Duties / tasks
* Liaise with external suppliers for repair work (including costs and delivery)
* Preparations of cost benefit analysis to assist management decisions in the purchase of new equipment relevant to this field
* Capital investment recommendations (machinery) for the budget process and during the year
* Arrange and hold regular team meetings to develop engineers and the process * Review and update job performance and objectives in line with the business strategy
* Liaise with Manufacturing Coordinator/production control on machine availability
* Attend inter Company visits to assess new methods and procedures
* Ensure the most efficient use of factory energy in accordance with CSR Policy
* Manage control measures for all hazardous substances
* Obtain competitive quotations from equipment suppliers
* Ensure timely ordering and supply of spare parts
* Source new items and new products for improvement as and when required
* Manage general maintenance on the production equipment
* Manage general maintenance on all ancillaries
* Support Technical and Quality departments on new projects
* Attend production and H&S meetings
* Recruit, train and motivate engineering staff to ensure that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
* Monitor the results of the planned maintenance program and introduce any required changes where effectiveness needs to be improved
* Determine engineering training and development plans for shift technicians
* Carry out fault finding to detect and repair any electrical or mechanical faults on equipment
* Monitor machinery to ensure it is working effectively
* Changeover times achieved to agreed standard
* Downtime is no greater that the agreed level
* Quality standards can be achieved and maintained

Knowledge and Qualifications
ONC in an Engineering Discipline
ILM 2 Team Leader Certificate (or willingness to work towards)
Technical Skills:
* PLC experience (preferably Omron and Mitsubishi)
* Electro-mechanical skills
* How to implement PPM/TPM systems
* Skills - Personal
* Decision making skills
* Management skills
* Ability to use own initiative
* Attention to detail
* Commitment to quality
