A manufacturer of industrial products sold to companies in the UK and Europe are now looking for an experienced Production Leader to join their Birmingham based facility.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be tasked with managing a production team of around 100 people across 2 production lines, helping to maximise their productivity. Some of your responsibilities are listed below:

* Implement Lean Practices / Systems to improve production efficiencies
* Reduce machine down time to achieve OTIF (on time in full)
* Manage a production team of around 100 people with 6 direct reports
* Manage your own hours to best suit production requirements
* Work alongside Materials Manager to ensure reduction of machine downtime
* With a mixture of permanent and temporary labour - you will induct and ensure the training of new starters.
* Development of production personnel through appropriate monitoring, appraisal and training.
* Responsible for ensuring manufacturing machines are maintained (arrange preventative and reactive maintenance and repair)

The successful candidate will be an experience production leader who is used to managing a team and setting / monitoring targets. You will be used to a fast - paced environment and have the ability to take a holistic view of the production area, identifying areas of improvement and then implementing them.
