Our client operates a network of around 45 branches and depots locations where accommodation and storage units are prepared for rental or sale and are refurbished as required.
PURPOSE
To provide analytical financial support to the Regional Directors and their Regional Teams.
Reporting structure
Reporting to: FP & A Director Main organisational relationships: Regional Directors, HRBP and Regional/Site Management network
Main responsibilities
- Work closely with the Regional Directors to identify financial and strategic goals - Identify key business areas to drive growth. - Evaluate business decisions and proposals, including pricing/bid support and risk management activities - Lead financial change initiatives in the Hire business. - Implement robust finance control that includes challenging costs, and the identification of potential cost savings - Deliver the month end numbers and monthly management reporting packs to the account teams/ business in accordance with the agreed timetable - Responsible for ensuring monthly review and sign off of management reporting and financial statements - Produce and deliver budgets and forecasts - Identify and deliver financial continuous improvement initiatives - Management and reporting of P&L and balance sheets; sales and performance analysis, operational reviews, budgeting and forecasting; - Business partnering, evaluation and implementation of process improvements working in coordination with the business - Capex Control
Key factors for success (short-term, mid-term and long-term)
Success in 6 months will include: - Align Regional Reporting to Group format - Secure Month End Closure implementing necessary controls - Focus in cost Control: analysis of current situation and Action to be taken Success in 1 year will include: - Evaluate business decisions and proposals - Elaborate an accurate Budget - Put in place P&L and Capex budget by Region - Support Sites with adequate reporting and analysis

Personal Characteristics: - Commercial, and customer facing - Excellent analytical skills - Strong decision maker with the ability to see beyond the financial elements of the job - Intellectual thinker - Good influencer - Outstanding attention to detail, methodical in approach to process - Robust character who can challenge thinking and assumptions - Team player who understands how to work cross functionally in a matrix management structure Work Experience: - Experience of preparing management and financial reports - Experience of operating proactively with business executives to provide and interpret management information for business forecasting, planning and management purpose, proposing corrective actions which are effectively implemented - Ability to influence and communicate across all areas of the business - Qualified Accountant (MBA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA) - Commercial finance experience within a blue chip organisation, preferably logistics and/or multi-site distribution outlets Other Considerations: Extensive travel across the UK forms a key part of the role (av. 30,000+ miles per year)
