Mechanical Design Engineer working for a well established engineering business in Manchester

Your new company
Your new company is a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of inspection equipment, located in Manchester. They are well known for providing exceptional products that are the best in their class. Due to this they have grown over the last 70 years, they now have a huge global representation operating in over 70 countries.

Your new role
In your new role you will be working as a mechanical design engineer within a forward thinking product development team. You will research and develop new products from conception through to completion, verify new designs using simulation software and proactively work towards improving the existing product base. Within this role you will also act as a key liaison with team members and stakeholders, providing expert advice. You will also work alongside other departments constantly reviewing products and assessing quality.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need at a minimum 4 years experience within a engineering role, with at least 2 years working in a design capacity. You will need to have a real passion for mechanical engineering and hold some form qualification in engineering, ideally a BEng. Experience with pressure vessels, pumps, inspection equipment, fabrication and plastic injection moulding will all be needed for this role. It is also desirable if you have experience/knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, CFD, mechanical calculations and JIRA software.
