Job location: Milton Keynes (5months) & Eastleigh Southampton (13 Months)

Hourly pay rate:
Electrical - Monday - Friday £19 PH & Weekend overtime - £22 PH (Both with +£1 PH Retention Bonus)
Test - Monday - Friday £23.50 & weekend overtime £26 PH (both with £1 retainer on top)

Shifts: Days

Hours per week: 55+

Duration: 5 months (With the option for the addition of a 13 month contract follow on).

Client Summary:

The Shorterm Group is a Rolling Stock Recruitment specialist and provides staffing solutions for clients across the Industry. One of our clients is a leader in railway rolling stock engineering and enhancement. They run a number of projects across the UK and specialize in improving Rail Vehicle performance and utilization.

This is one of the most lucrative train opportunities in the UK, installing state of the art regenerative braking systems to rolling stock; this is a great prospect for someone looking to break into the rolling stock industry or someone currently in the trade to be part of something that will be widely renowned within the industry.

Position Summary:

We are looking for Electrical Wireman or Technician's for an underframe modification in Milton Keynes. Duties will include but are not limited to; looming, wiring, cable harnessing and point to point wiring. All candidates MUST be able to read engineering drawings & schematics.

We are looking for Electricians & Testers from a variety of backgrounds including but not limited to those with experience in Rolling Stock/Aerospace/Marine/Industrial/Commercial. Ultimately candidates must be capable, proactive and adaptable technicians who relish working in a heavy engineering environment.

Person Profile/Experience:

Successful Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

* Relevant Electrical qualifications.
* A highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative.
* Possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
* Ideally have knowledge of modern rolling stock systems and Train depot operations.
* Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams / schematics and to work unsupervised once they have an understanding of what is required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Relevant NVQ, C&G, BTEC level 3 in Electrical Engineering or time-served.
