Field Service Engineer
To be considered for this role, candidates need to live in the Newcastle or Sunderland area covering the North East (up to Scottish Borders)
Salary £26,900 up to £30,100 dependent on experience, plus company car, bonus and excellent benefits
Candidate Essentials
* Full UK driving licence
* Ideally you will have two years' experience working in a field service role.
* Extensive problem-solving skills, including excellent mechanical, and electronic diagnostic and repair skills and industry recognised qualifications:BTEC, Higher National Certificate, City & Guilds or equivalent
* Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of software products including installation, updating and use
* Previous experience in a customer facing engineering role
* Excellent telephone manner, with good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience of working with IT Networks, LAN, Wi-Fi
* Good IT literacy, knowledge of MS office
* Exceptional planning, organising and customer facing skills
* Must be able to manage own time and work priorities
Duties
* Efficiently, professionally and economically carry out installations, repairs, preventative maintenance of hardware and software products in accordance with established processes, ensuring quality and professionalism and a positive customer experience
* Provide a high standard of operator training and remote support to ensure that the customer maximises their return on investment and minimise operator error failures, reducing the requirement field service site visits
* Maintain an effective parts stock to ensure a high level of 1st time repair and ensure their economic use, and a positive customer experience
* Support our customers where possible by remote resolution and on site as a trusted adviser, sharing best practice and industry knowledge
* Flexibility to work occasionally outside of normal geographic area and normal working hours to provide support to our customers
* Actively participate in team meetings, looking to share best practice and work as part of the team to deliver continual improvement
* Actively contribute to projects as required applying expertise, industry and customer knowledge to achieve the best outcome
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with procedures and obligations
* Accurate recording of data and activity in accordance with established processes
* Maintain awareness and keeping abreast of constantly changing software, hardware systems and peripherals
* To participate in ongoing training either online, on telephone, at 'factory' or Regional / Head Office, both technical and non-technical
