**Job Description**

We are looking for a female Support Worker to assist a young lady to remain independent and live the life she wants to lead, despite various health challenges. Female only applicants are requested by this young lady due to her personal care requirements.

The role is to support the young lady in her own home where she lives with her family and also out and about in the community. Duties include working in a very tailored, person centred way to promote independence with personal care, managing medication, keeping fit and well and enjoying hobbies and activities. Monitoring and promoting this ladys health and well being is central to the work, as is enabling quality of life.

Keeping stress to a minimum is important so patience and empathy are key attributes that are being looked for. The post needs someone who is keen to work as part of a team but also enjoys working 1:1.Someone with an understanding personality and good sense of humour is essential and sharing a passion for some of this ladys interests, would be very welcome - bringing new but similar hobbies may also add an interesting dimension.

**This ladys interests are:**

Card making, crafts, gardening, cooking, walking (not hiking or hill walking!), swimming, theatre, music, singing in the car, playing good old fashioned games e.g. scrabble, ludo, etc.,; and enjoying a joke.

**We are looking for:**

Female applicants only. Applicants must have a Full Clean Driving Licence and be willing and able to use their car for work purposes. Some care experience essential as is a passion to make a difference to someone else, in their life.

**Times and Days required:**

The rota is currently Mon Fri 10.45am 5pm, Sat 3.30pm 9pm

We are looking to recruit someone to do a minimum 1 day per week totalling 6.15 hours

Applicants need be able to offer some flexibility to meet the needs of the client e.g. with prior agreement, some times and days may vary. Applicants will need to be available at times, to cover other workers etc.

The post may also require you to occasionally accompany the client on short breaks, if requested.

**Rate of Pay:** £12 per hour Monday to Saturday.

All applicants will receive full training to meet the needs of the client. An enhanced disclosure is required (expense to be met by employer)
