£16,640 - £18,200 per annum
Must be willing to do sleep-ins occasionally
Contract set to 40 hours per week (overtime paid/available)
Ideally car driver with own vehicle
Prism7 Health and Care Recruitment is looking for experienced SENIOR Residential Support workers who have previous experience working as a Senior support worker with Children and/or Young people with autism, LD, MH, emotional problems, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, complex needs.
Our client is looking for talented, and passionate individuals in the Tiverton area with NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children/Young people`s settings.
Main duties of the Senior Support Workers (Children/Young People)
To provide high quality, person-centred care recognising the potential of each Young Person and to promote through actions and words the achievement of that potential including working as part of a team.
To meet the personal care and support needs of Young People using the service in a way that promotes, dignity, privacy, safety and independence.
To ensure the effective use of resources in providing this care and support.
To act as shift leader, undertake administration and direct Colleagues in the absence or as directed by the Service/Home manager.
Have a good understanding of the operating philosophy, aims and objectives and facilities and services provided as laid down in the Statement of Purpose.
Have a good understanding of the disabilities, health and social care needs, strengths and challenges of those who use our services.
Deliver quality care and support to meet the health, personal and social care needs of people who use our services as documented in the individual plan of care.
Be aware of areas of high risk as identified in risk assessments and deliver care and support in line with individual risk management care plans.
Monitor the physical health and psychological well-being of people who use our services, report any changes and assist in the evaluation of the outcomes of care and support.
Understand the importance of promoting independence and diversity in providing care and support.
Support those who use our services to exercise their right of choice over their programme of care and support.
Encourage participation, involvement and personal fulfilment by supporting an agreed programme of activities that reflects individual choice and preferences.
Act as a Key Worker when required for an individual Young Person.
On the basis of a detailed working knowledge of care plans, supervise the delivery of care when acting as shift leader.
Delivery and administer care to the quality related to the nine-key standards regulation 6 to Regulation 14 defined in the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015
Deliver care that helps each Child/Young Person develop resilience and skills that prepare them to return home, live in a new placement or live independently as an adult.
Engage with Children/Young People to understand their views, wishes and feelings and balance those against the Child/Young Persons best interests. Help the Child/Young Person to understand how their privacy is respected.
Skills & Experiences required from the Senior Support Workers (Children/Young People)
Experience of working in a care setting looking after vulnerable Children
NVQ III/- Direct Care/Social Care or L3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent
First Aid
Health and Safety
Basic Food Hygiene
Manual Handling
Able to read and write English to an acceptable standard
Ability to produce written reports with good use of IT
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and clients (verbally and non-verbally)
