Civils & Groundworks Quantity Surveyor

CBS (Construction & Building Services) have been commissioned by a leading Civils & Groundworks Contractor to source and place and experienced Quantity Surveyor to work within their busy commercial department based in the North Cambridge region.

As Civils & Groundworks Quantity Surveyor you will be required to:

* Managing the control of costs
* Maximising value
* Minimising future liabilities
* Maintaining the required standard of quality and safety on a range of contracts.
* Manage the commercial resources of the assigned projects to maximise gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts
* Provide commercial expertise to contracts, to include the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring, and contract/workstream performance data
* Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement company policies
* Support the authorisation and submission of project variations.
* To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders
* Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
* Value work executed by sub-contractors and certify interim and final payments.

To apply to the role of Civils & Groundworks Estimator you will have and be:

* A minimum of 3 years previous Quantity Surveying experience
* Strong experience working with a Civils & Groundworks Contractor
* Strong commercial skills
* Strong IT skills, especially Excel
* Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities
* The ability to analyse and assess risk.
* Good negotiation, influencing and communication skills
* Good organisation skills, analytical reasoning and attention to detail
* Professional, Self-motivated and with the ability to work alone or in a team
* Organised, and possess problem solving skills
* Well-spoken, personable, Confident and resourceful

Package for the Civils & Groundworks Estimator will be dependent upon experience but typically:

* Salary ranging between £40,000 and £65,000 per annum
* Pension
* Other benefits
