Matchtech are currently able to offer the exclusive requirement for a Controls Engineer to join a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality plasitc parts for the automotive sector. Thanks to winning several new major contractor, the company are currently expaning their UK operations with a new plant in Telford.

With this new plant they are actively looking for a Controls Engineer with the following skills:

* Educated to HNC or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years experience in similar role
* Track record working in 1st tier automotive environment
* Professional qualifications in relevant skill base
* Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Experience working with ABB 5400 robots, Siemens S7 PLC's, Paint Plants
* Computer literate, M/S Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Outlook, ABB and Siemens
* Able to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision
* Formal qualification in Health and Safety, NEBOSH desirable

Beneficial Skills

* Experience in IAFT16949 (TS16949)
* Experience of automated paint lines

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Maintain an audit ready controls backup register and software
* Maintain fully functional software backup for all relevant plant and processes
* Provide technical support for maintenance team
* Provide technical support for facilities
* Provide technical support for paint techs
* Provide technical support for assembly
* Be prepared and able to step down to support other maintenance personnel when required.
* Maintain weekly / monthly operating metrics (backup register)
* Assess current technology for effectiveness and compare to new technology within the industry
* Develop and execute shutdown plan and activities
* Contribute to CAPEX plan relating to department activities
* Indentify and maintain max / min spares holding
* Ownership for control system back-ups
* Represent controls at engineering change meetings
* Develop apprentice program with local provider
