Ark Complex Care is looking for an ITU / Complex Community Nurses to work with a young adult male with a C2 spinal injury in the Poole area of Dorset.

You will work with our client in his own home as part of a 2:1 24/7 rota and would have the opportunity to build a long-term relationship offering the client continuity of care. Reporting to the Nurse Team Leader and Head of Nursing, you will be responsible for the clinical aspects of all care provision for the client to ensure he is kept safe and healthy within his own home. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make an extremely positive difference and take an active role in enhancing the clients life.

We welcome applicants who have worked in an ITU or critical care setting who have had experience working with patients who require ventilation support.

Duties will include:

Working alongside a specially trained support worker, you will be responsible for providing specialist clinical intervention including but not limited to the management of ventilation, tracheostomy care, and catheter care.

Working with our Nurse Managers and Team Leaders to deliver a truly person centred care package within the community

Supporting the client with his exercise and neuro-physiotherapy regime including Hydrotherapy and FES cycling

Allowing the client to live his life to the full supporting him with all aspects of daily living including clinical, social and vocational support

To uphold a professional demeanour at all times, ensuring you are providing the highest level of care and support for our client

To apply you must have:

Registered Nursing Qualification with current NMC pin number

Experience of working with ventilated patients / tracheotomy care

Experience working in an ITU / HDU setting

Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
