The Works is recruiting for a Plant Fitter based in the Eastleigh area.

The ideal candidate would be an experienced time served apprentice or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline with demonstrable experience. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant, including forklifts, dumper trucks and small diggers. It is key to the business to ensure all machinery / plant is kept in full working order and ready for use.

Main Duties include -

* Checking all plant to ensure everything is in working order on a fast turn around
* Vehicle / plant certification is kept up to date and if expired the check process is completed
* Working in the company workshop, as machines come back from site
* On site repairs will be required where quick fixes can be completed
* If the plant on site has a major issue, arrangements for return of the broken machine and replacement must be arranged
* Van supplied for business use only, however can be taken home

Key skills -

* Demonstrable experience of repairing machines with hydraulics is essential
* A background in agricultural or large plant repair would be preferable
* Ability to communicate, problem solve and self-manage workload
