Who will I be working with?

Founded in 1972, Ingimex is the UKs largest manufacturer of light commercial vehicle bodies for many of the leading chassis manufacturers, with the ability to fully design, test and manufacture the aluminium based products in house. With strong emphasis on design, Ingimex are always working to improve existing products as well as expanding the product range. Quality is of the utmost importance to the company and the team prides itself on the exceptionally high standards of safety, function and finish achieved through the manufacturing systems and processes. All facilities from design to after sales support are under one roof at the companys purpose-built factory in Telford, Shropshire, and as part of the exciting expansion program, Ingimex is currently increasing the manufacturing site with a £2 million extension.

What will the role of Design Engineer entail?

Reporting to the Engineering Director, as a Design Engineer you will be responsible for modelling and drafting of product and tooling and the design and manufacture of jigs. You will predominately spend your time on measuring and reporting of prototype parts and production support through checking departmental output and systems. Your duties will include but not be limited to the following, however for experienced senior engineers the responsibilities will be adjusted to reflect such;

* Modelling / Drafting of product and tooling
* Maintenance and issue of engineering data and documents
* Completing CAD detailing
* Detailing of prototype parts and tooling including SR process
* Design and manufacture of jigs
* Completion of engineering change notifications
* Auditing departmental systems

What will I need to be considered for this Design Engineer vacancy?

Most importantly, Ingimex are looking for someone with the right attitude and behaviours. A professional who is eager to learn and really develop themselves and the service the company can offer. You will also have;

* Proven experience within a design office, and / or a degree in Mechanical / Design Engineering or equivalent
* Experience using Solidworks advanced assembly, and AutoCAD 2D and 3D
* Superb mathematical and scientific calculation skills, particularly formulas, calculations and data analysis
* Be motivated to succeed, with a proactive can do approach
* Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to multi task, prioritise and work under pressure
* Be personable and an excellent team player

What will I receive in return?

Salary: Junior Engineers will have a starting salary between £20,000 and £30,000 depending on experience, and you will be trained to become a qualified Design Engineer earning between £45,000 to £55,000, over a 5 year period. Senior Engineers will receive a competitive salary up to £55,000 with the level dependent on experience and qualifications.

Other Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and company pension

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.30pm

Contract Type: Permanent
