Job Title - Junior Systems Designer

Package - £20k - £25k plus package

Location - East London

The Company:

Our client is an innovative specialist sub-contractor working within London's residential sector. They have experienced year on year growth, due to the quality of their installations and as such are looking for an individual who can help them achieve the highest quality and most buildable designs possible.

Their projects are throughout London and the Great London area, working with some of London's leading property developers installing lighting, electrical and home automation technology. Their projects are generally design and build, so someone with a good understanding of designing with AutoCAD 2D and 3D would suit this role very well, they also use Vector Works, so experience using this would be a plus. This is a close-knit team and as such there is a real opportunity for accelerated career development for the right individual.

The Role:

A Junior Systems Designer is needed to coordinate the design and installation of specialist electrical and smart technology in a number of prestigious London residential projects, on numerous projects working for London's leading developers.

Reporting to our client's Technical Design Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

* Create General Arrangement drawings on a project to project basis, ensuring that the drawing falls in line with take-offs provided by the sales team
* Create detailed wiring schematics on a project to project basis for Electrical and Audio-Visual systems, this document must meet our client's standards and be detailed enough to work from
* Additional visual documentation to be created from 3D modelling to Technical Submissions, all to be based on the sales quotation and specification
* Keep record of all changes to the drawing and notify TDM of any changes
* Ensure all approved documentation is uploaded to the relevant Construction web sites for Client approval
* Manage the approval process for assigned projects, ensuring that changes in client's documentation is reflected in the client's documentation for the duration of the project
* Assist in the design and marketing for the company's software user interface, working alongside the programming team, documenting UI standards and design
* Keep up to date with changes to product specification and keep regular communication with Technical Design Manager

To be successful in the role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

* 1 year's experience working in AV/Electrical Design

* Proven product knowledge of Crestron, Control 4, Lutron, KNX, Cisco, Comelit, BPT, Autonomics and Apple would be advantageous

* Experience delivering documentation produced by MS Office, AutoCAD, Vector Works, Visio and Adobe illustrator

* Comfortable working with Architects, Interior Designers, MEP Consultants and Contractors

* Experience in dealing with top level clients and their staff

* Knowing the limits of a Control system based upon product specified and client specification, with the ability to highlight issues to the team
* BSc or Vocational equivalent in Engineering or Design would be a plus
