We are currently looking for support workers to work with elderly clients who are visually or sensory impaired.
Your role as a Support Worker (Older Persons) would be to motivate and encourage service users to be independent whilst supporting them with social, emotional and physical needs. Other tasks will include providing personal care, assisting with feeding, light chores and providing companionship.
You will be working as a team with the other staff to provide a high quality of person centred care to each service user. You will be required to communicate effectively with all the clients/residents, families, key persons, and other team members of staff to find their likes and preferences. Experience of PECs, Makaton or Braille would be beneficial.
You will:
* Hold a valid DBS (Conducted in the last 12 months)
* Have at least 9 months UK experience in the care sector
* Have a good level of English (written & verbal) skills
* Will be comfortable providing personal care
If you have a DBS that is registered with the online update service, we can offer you work more quickly. You must be able to provide 5 years' references and either have all mandatory training in date, or be prepared to complete this prior to starting your assignment.
