Our Manufacturing client in Ebbw Vale is looking to appoint a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis to join their busy and growing production team.

You will be responsible for supporting and managing the company's Quality Management System and providing the Quality Manager with support when requested concerning all aspects of the Quality activity.

There will be a requirement for written reports, and providing analysis of customer returns and reported concerns.

The right candidate will be organised and disciplined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure, self-motivated, ambitious to succeed, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good time management skills, and able to prioritise targets and achieve tight deadlines are essential.

* Produce monthly KPI reports
* Produce 8D reports
* Knowledge of key quality techniques - i.e. APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, etc
* Knowledge of 5Why/ Fishbone analysis
* Good computer skills, ability to use all popular software systems such as excel, word and Visio.
* Possess IT skills that are tailored to creating and enhancing current system processes with a view to intranet base system
* Ability to interact at all levels within a modern manufacturing environment
* Methodical attitude and Excellent eye for detail
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Conscientious
* Flexible attitude to work
* Customer facing experience would be an advantage
* As opportunities present themselves, some travel will be involved requiring visits to customer sites and suppliers which may on occasions be required at short notice
* Involvement in team activities such as design, NPI, product and process interactions
* This position will report directly to the Quality Manager

Key Requirements:

* Degree or equivalent - HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
* Previous quality related experience
* Knowledge of ISO9001 with experience of conducting audits an advantage
* Experience in a similar field within the automotive or off road vehicular environment would be an advantage but not essential
