An outstanding opportunity to join one of the biggest consumer, house-hold name success stories of the last decade as Head of Finance - Retail & Operations.

This is a newly created role and key in delivering robust financial performance for the Retail division, which is increasingly being treated as a standalone business unit.

You will closely with the Directors of the Retail and Operations business units and the Chief Operating Officer.

The role leads a team of 4 experienced Finance Managers to provide financial support and challenge and will encompass the development of business plans, preparation of new business proposals for growth and efficiency, budgets, forecasts and reporting of actual performance. The role will involve working closely with the CFO and Director of Finance.
This role has four direct reports, each being a Finance Manager heading up one of four business key areas.
The Head of Finance - Retail & Ops is responsible for leading a team of finance professionals to deliver continuing improvement in the financial performance of this business
-Provide financial advice, support and challenge to the Retail and Operations Teams by building effective working relationships at all levels, including Senior Managers
-Review and improve the timely reporting of key business drivers
-Work closely with the Finance Managers for each business area to provide insight, challenge and commercial advice into management discussions
-Encourage the Finance Managers for each business area to establish the accounting process, and performance reporting for this business area and to manage the key balance sheet lines
-Lead the Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast process for Retail business areas identifying the potential opportunities for improvements
-Continually identify and implement improvements to business processes to increase efficiency and ensure all costs are recorded accurately in the accounts
-Challenge and review results to seek opportunities to increase income/reduce costs and risks
-Work alongside other senior members of the Finance team to deliver efficiencies and improvements in the quality of information that is provided for decision making
-Build a high performing team of finance professionals

We are seeking a high calibre, qualified CIMA / ACA/ ACCA accountant with minimum of +7 PQE experience gained working in a dynamic, medium or large sized company in the Retail or FMCG sector.

Other Key experience required:
-Minimum 2:1 degree and other strong academic record
-Proven Management experience of 2 - 4 Managers
-Experience of reporting period management accountant, analysis and commentary
-Experience of budgeting and forecast
-Experience of strong business partnering and working in a matrix structure
-Advanced Excel skills

Not essential but an advantage:
-Experience of working on bids and tenders
-System skills including mainstream accounting packages e.g. Oracle, Hyperion
