**Job Specification: Temporary Warehouse Manager**

Background

* The business is a family owned business and have been established for over 40 years. The main business of the company is the import and distribution of photo and video accessories to trade customers.
* The ideal candidate should have rounded warehouse management experience in a small to medium size company.
* Experience required in the following areas: able to manage a small group of people effectively, good organisational ability & communication skills, must be a hands on manager as they will need to get involved with despatch of goods (picking & packing) during busy periods, good IT skills, general knowledge of warehouse health and safety, forklift license (REACH) preferable.

Reportage

* This role reports to the directors of the company.

Main Duties

* Responsible for ensuring a fast, smooth, accurate and efficient working of the warehouse on a cost effective basis.
* Allocating orders on to Warehouse Operative scanners, and ensuring they have sufficient work to do at all times.
* Assisting with despatch of orders during busy periods.
* Liaison between warehouse and sales office to ensure orders are processed efficiently and goods are shipped accurately and on time.
* Overall supervision of warehouse operation - ensuring all areas of the operation from Goods In through to Despatch operate efficiently, and the companies Service Standards are achieved on a daily basis.
* Responsibility for stock management, stock accuracy and any issues that may arise in this area.
* Should have good working knowledge of stock control software.
* Organising stock being sent to + brought back from outside storage. Controlling outside storage levels to minimise operational costs.
* Overseeing quality control, repairs and returns. Ensuring that QC procedures are adhered to throughout the operation.
* Day to day responsibility for ensuring that the Health & Safety policy is adhered to in the warehouse, and raising any areas of non-compliance to the directors.
* Responsibility for building security ensuring the security of the warehouse, including start & end of day checks, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

Other Details

* This is a temporary position, based at our Swindon Head Office.
* Normal Working Hours: 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (40hrs, with half hour for lunch).
